Kim Bingham has explored myriad musical paths yet maintained true to herself, from her humble beginnings with legendary Montreal ska phenomenon Me Mom & Morgentaler, through her solo projects (the rock 'n'roll of Mudgirl and The Kim Band, the sophistication of “Intermede”), to touring worldwide with other artists (David Usher and Nelly Furtado), to composing the Gemeaux award-winning original music for Radio-Canada TV series “Les Invincibles”.

Kim Bingham began her rock'n'roll odyssey as co-founder, frontwoman and singer-songwriter of Montreal ska phenomenon Me Mom & Morgentaler. This eight-piece band gained a reputation as an unbeatable live act with frequent tours across North America, selling over 30,000 copies of their independent releases.

Kim left Me Mom & Morgentaler, and established herself as one of the most dynamic rock'n'roll performers in Canada under the pseudonym MUDGIRL. She produced her solo debut FIRST BOOK (1996). Propelled by the single "This Day", this indie EP brought Mudgirl international attention, including a slot on the Lilith Fair U.S. tour and praise from Rolling Stone magazine. Her five-song record generated two more singles and videos, for the songs "Contact" and “Adjusted”.

In 2001, Kim reinvented herself once again as THE KIM BAND and released a collection of self-penned songs called GIRLOLOGY, including the single “What A Drag”. A deep connection to her hometown of Montreal inspired the release of French versions of her songs to radio stations in Quebec. The result was a #1 hit with “Quel Dommage”.

Kim has penned songs recorded by Canadian acts JackSoul and Serial Joe as well as by Belgian bands Spark and Eden, whose cover of Kim's tune "Party Girl" hit Belgium's Top Ten.

Kim has moonlighted as a guitarist and vocalist for Grammy-winning artist Nelly Furtado and for Juno award-winner David Usher, with guest appearances in concert, television and radio performances across the globe (“The Tonight Show”, “David Letterman”, BBC’s “Top Of The Pops”, BBC Radio’s “Radio One” and more).

Kim is the composer of original music for the French-Canadian TV series "Les Invincibles", broadcast nationally on Radio-Canada. Kim performed and produced the soundtrack album for "Les Invincibles", which released in June 2007 on the Warner Music Canada label.

In August 2007, Kim released her second record for the year, her first one in French entitled “Intermede”. A stylistic departure in her second language, the collection of songs shows a softer, more orchestral side to Kim’s vocal, writing and production skills.

In September 2007, Kim received a Gemeaux award for the theme song of “Les Invincibles”. Kim shared the honor with co-writer Jean-Francois Rivard, who is also the writer/director of the series.

Kim is currently at work on her next English-language rock record under the alias Kamikaze Pilot. She is also set to compose music for the third season of “Les Invincibles”, to be broadcast in 2009.
