I have downloaded some of your stuff from your site and you ladies are some of the best tribute bands I've heard. Dont get me wrong though I give props to all tribute bands though cause it takes great effort to do what you guys do. ***WICKED*** 2nd show
OH MY GAWD!!! This was the show to end all shows, to silence all naysayers, to put a sock in the mouths of all the shortsighted pea-brained mealy-mouthed wanna be's who said it couldn't be done! Finally the Smooch line-up is intact. Complaints from the first Bovine show obviously hit the right ears, and this time round we got Astra II, a lead guitarist cut in the Ace Frehley cloth who hit all the right notes and played her ass off, said not a word throughout the entire set and took no prisoners. A few glitches ie. Strutter 1st verse and I didn't think the "Cold Gin" opening riff was played exactly on the money, but otherwise who the f#%* cares?!??
This was the vixen who stole my full bottle of beer to play a bang on impromptu slide guitar solo, put the bottle down fizzin' up a storm only to continue through the verse. My heart? Lost somewhere on the ground I guess.
The rest of the band was tight and obviously well-rehearsed. Gina Simmons maintained a low rumbling bass sound throughout the set and a menacing stage prescence to boot. Petra Criss sang a note perfect "Beth" mid-set and played flawless drums throughout. Her inbetween song banter was cocky and funny and totally fitting. The "Paul Stanley" lady was the backbone of the band. She sang great, was sexy as hell and she stole the show. "Detroit Rock City" was a showstopper to be fucken sure. Can anything stop this band????
European Tour??? At least.
Make no mistake about it, this is the band that can take over the world!

I guess that was one hell of a debut performance last night at the Bovine. I wish I could say that I was there to enjoy it, but I was one of the unfortunate ones who were stuck outside. Whoever promoted the gig did one fine job. I tried using the line that "I was there to get photos of the band for their web site" (not necessarily untrue!), but it didn't work on the bouncer/gatekeeper. I finally squeezed in just after 1am for your final encore number, and there were still people outside behind me waiting to get in! That must say something about the concept you've come up with.
Anyway, I hope to see and hear Smooch from the inside next time around.
